  1. Just Let It Go

From the recording Now & Again

I wrote the music and melody to a lyric written many years ago by Richard Bush. We grew up together. I played guitar and sang while Rick wrote a collection of lyrics. Over the years I've written several songs strumming and humming while thumbing through an old folder of Rick's lyrics. This lyric, in particular, spoke to me during this crazy pandemic. It's meant to inspire us all to use music as a means of pulling ourselves out of this pandemic funk...step to the beat, sing in our cars, and strum air guitars!

Lyrics

How do you turn a frown into a smile
Need inspiration to go the extra mile
Listen to the rhythm inside your heart
Clap your hands and make a new start

There's people on the street
Stepping to the beat
Singing in their cars
Strumming air guitars
It's rock and roll
Just let it go

Are you looking for a new kind of high
One that won't leave you dry
Listen to the melody inside your dreams
Life is not as bad as it seems

There's people on the street
Stepping to the beat
Singing in their cars
Strumming air guitars
It's rock and roll
Just let it go...year year

If life has got you down, turn it around
Let the music play, let it take you away

So how do you turn a frown into a smile
Need inspiration to go the extra mile
Just listen to the rhythm inside your heart
Clap your hands and make a new start
And just rock it

There's people on the street
Stepping to the beat
Singing in their cars
Strumming air guitars
It's rock and roll
Just let it go

There's people on the street
Stepping to the beat
Singing in their cars
Strumming air guitars
It's rock and roll
Just let it go
