Release Q&A - "Just Let It Go"

Some interesting notes ahead of my release of "Just Let It Go".  Look for it on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, etc.

Who wrote "Just Let It Go"?

Todd Michael Chapman - Music and Melodies
Richard Bush - Lyrics

Who was involved in the recording and production?

I did all of the vocals, instrumentation, and production at my home studio.  I also mixed this one.  Adam Kagan did the mastering for me.

What's the story behind the song?

I wrote the music and melody to a lyric written many years ago by Richard Bush.  We grew up together.  I played guitar and sang while Rick wrote a collection of lyrics.  Over the years I've written several songs strumming and humming while thumbing through an old folder of Rick's lyrics.  This lyric, in particular, spoke to me during this crazy pandemic.  It's meant to inspire us all to use music as a means of pulling ourselves out of this pandemic funk...step to the beat, sing in our cars, and strum air guitars!

What else was interesting about the recording?

I recorded an unreleased version of "Just Let It Go" several years ago (before the likes of Spotify).  That version featured my friend and former bandmate PJ Lorenzo on electric guitar and bass.  It was acoustically driven as I wrote the song on acoustic guitar.  In this 2021 version, I left the acoustic in its case and pulled out a harmonica to lead into the 1st and 2nd verses.

I hope you enjoy it.
